I ni su!  That’s good evening in Bambara, the language I’ll be mastering (fingers crossed!) over the next 2 years.

Today was my last full day at Tubaniso (the Peace Corps training center) and tomorrow I head out to a village close by to meet my Malian host family!!

I’ll be staying in the village for the next two weeks — spending time with the family for meals and in the evening, and attending intensive language and cultural training during the day with a handful of other PCVs.  My next post will certainly provide more “hands-on” stories and experiences.  I’m looking forward to sharing more in this space.

I might be a bit absent from the blog for a couple of weeks, but I’ll be back to Internet on July 21, if not before.

World Cup pick:  The Netherlands.

p.s. – apologies for the brevity…many PCVs to one computer!
